        A. STORING A SIMULATION MANUALLY
        B. STORING A SIMULATION AUTOMATICALLY
        C. MULTIPLE INTERMEDIATE SIMULATION STORAGE

      A. STORING A SIMULATION MANUALLY

Simulations can be stored at any stage of ray
tracing or afterwards by clicking the 'Save
      simulation' button.

The control and status boxes do not appear on the
saved simulation even when they are visible on the
      screen.

Storage is as a bitmap file to the name and location
of choice. The image size is the same as the screen
      resolution settings.

Ray tracing continues after a simulation is stored
and several versions of a simulation may be stored.

      B. STORING A SIMULATION AUTOMATICALLY

Go to 'Tools' 'Options' and click the checkbox
      'Autosave simulation'

When a simulation is completed, or stopped manually,
it will now be saved as "autosave.bmp". This file
will be overwritten so rename it if the simulation
      is wanted.

      C. MULTIPLE INTERMEDIATE SIMULATION STORAGE

Very often the number of rays needed to best produce a
simulation is not known. It is annoying if a long
simulation perhaps left to run in background or
overnight ends over or under 'exposed'.

HALOSIM3 can store up to 10 intermediate simulations.

Go to 'Tools' 'Options' and check 'Enable multisave
      controls'.

Extend the Control Panel. At bottom right you will
now see a button 'Multisave simulation'. This will
be enabled if more than 500,000 rays are requested
      for the simulation.

Click to 'On' and select the number of times the
simulation is to be saved. The allowed maximum is 10.

Intermediate simulations will now be stored during
a long simulation. A beep sounds at each save.

       Example:
       500,000 rays - 5 saves

         100,000 rays - autint1.bmp saved
         200,000 autint2.bmp saved
         300,000 autint3.bmp saved
         400,000 autint4.bmp saved
         500,000 autint5.bmp saved.

Rename the files otherwise they will be overwritten
when multiple saves are next used.

Make sure there is enough disk space!
